- Pedigree: A chance seedling selected in 1875 by Richard Fuggle in England. Virtually identical to Styrian from Austria/Germany or Savinja Golding from Yugoslavia.
- General Trade Perception: A hop long associated with typical English Ale brewing. Imparts good hoppy late-hop flavour
- Possible Substitutions: Willamette, Styrian Golding, US Tettnang
- Beer Styles: English style beers, ESB, Bitter, Lager
- Other Information: Once the predominant hop in England but now reserved for aroma use in conjunction with high alpha types.
Maturity: Middle August
Yield: 1,200 - 1,500 kg./ha. or 1,050 - 1,350 lb./ac.
Growth Habit: Neat and manageable
Disease Reaction: Not seriously affected by Prunus necrotic ring-spot virus. Resistant to downy mildew. Not excessively sensitive to insects.

- Lupulin: Moderate amount, orange-yellow color
- Cone Structure: Small and rather light, medium compact
