Brewers Gold and a high
alpha acid male.

General Trade Perception: A high alpha acids
hop with good storage characteristics. Beer made solely from Nugget
has very good foam retention. The third
high alpha variety grown in the United States.
- Possible substitutions: Columbus, Chinook, Target.
- Beer Styles: Ales, Stout.
- Maturity: Early September
- Yield: 2000-2400 lb./ac. or kg./ha.
- Growth Habit: Columnar and vigorous
- Disease Reaction: Little visual reaction to infection with
Prunus necrotic ring-spot virus. Moderate to good resistance to downy
mildew.
- Cone-Structure: Heavy, tight and moderately long.
- Pickability: Excellent, clean and dry.
- Aroma: Quite heavy and herbal.
- Lupulin: Plentiful and yellow-orange in color.
